Organizational Meeting – Covington Township – January 3, 2006

Covington Township Supervisors Decker Everett, Tom Wivell met for reorganization at the township building, George
Brooks was present via phone. Visitors present were: Bill Hall.

Motion by Brooks, second Everett, all ayes to appoint Tom Wivell as Temporary Chairman.

Meeting called to order at 7:00PM by Temporary Chairman Tom Wivell.

Motion by Everett, second Brooks, all ayes to appoint Tom Wivell as Chairman.

Motion by Everett, second Wivell, all ayes to appoint George Brooks as Vice Chairman.

Motion by Wivell, second Everett, all ayes to appoint Lisa Everett as Secretary-treasurer.

Motion by Brooks, second Wivell, all ayes to appoint Decker Everett as Road master.

Motion by Wivell, second Everett, all ayes to appoint Lisa Everett as Permit Officer.

Motion by Brooks, second Everett, all ayes to retain Ralph Davis as Zoning Officer.

Motion by Everett, second by Wivell for Supervisors to be compensated $1875.00 per year paid monthly for Supervisor
pay.

Motion by Brooks, second Wivell, all aye to give an increase of 4.10 % to all workers, which equals the Federal COLA,
with benefits remaining same as last year.

Motion by Everett, second Wivell all aye to retain Sandra Olson as Solicitor.

Motion by Brooks, second by Everett to have Roger Chilson and Secretary send out proposals for Zoning Hearing Board
Solicitor.  

Motion by Everett second Wivell, all ayes to appoint Bill Hall as vacancy board chairman.

Motion by Wivell, second Everett, all aye Scott Bray to be retained as township engineer.

Motion by Everett, second Wivell all aye to retain First Citizens National Bank as financial institution.

Motion by Everett, second Wivell, all ayes to retain Code Inspection Inc as Building Code Officials.

Motion by Everett, second Wivell all ayes to retain North Central Sewage Agency SEO.

Motion by Brooks, second Everett, all ayes to hold township meetings on the second Monday of month at 7:00 pm.

Determination made that Supervisors Everett and Brooks attend State Convention in Hershey, with George Brooks to act
as voting delegate.

Motion by Everett, second Brooks, all ayes for Secretary to attend PLGSA convention in August.

Motion by Brooks, second Everett, all ayes to keep treasurer’s bond at $220,000.00.

Motion by Everett, second Wivell, all ayes to set mileage rate as $.405.


Motion by Everett, second Brooks, all ayes that supervisors work for the township as needed.

Motion by Brooks, second Everett, all ayes for secretary to write checks between meetings as needed.

Motion by Everett, second Wivell all ayes for township employees to attend workshops as needed.

Motion by Everett, second Brooks, all ayes that township holidays remain the same as last year.

Motion by Brooks, second Everett, all ayes that bids be put out on all township supplies; gravel, salt brine, cinders, pipe,
etc.

Motion by Brooks, second Everett, all ayes that township employees receive 5 sick days per year.

Motions by Everett, second Wivell that Connie Baker attend the County Commissioner’s meeting when possible with
Secretary Lisa Everett as the alternate.
